Do you have a desire to be a hairstylist or manicurist? Do you have the ability to communicate with people? If so, you should consider entering the Cosmetology program.
Students take part in a two-year program of instruction to develop technical cosmetology skills. Students learn shampooing, cutting, styling, permanent waving, hair coloring, and manicuring, as well as sanitation procedures, hair care, nail care, and professional salon safety, ethics and management.
Good attendance is a must. The Ohio State Board of Cosmetology requires every candidate to complete 1500 hours of training to be eligible for the licensing exam. Once you have a state license, you will have the opportunity to express your creativity, practice cosmetology, achieve your career goals as a cosmetologist, and earn a good income.
