Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

12th Grade

**AVAILABLE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR**

Do you have an interest in a medical, public safety or dispatching career? If so, a career as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) might be what the doctor ordered.

The curriculum includes basic anatomy, foundations of Emergency Medical Services, medical terminology, vital signs, patient assessment and medical report writing. After students complete all requirements of the program, they will take the National Registry EMT Exam which is the certifying exam for the state of Ohio. EMT certification is also a prerequisite to Paramedic training.

The EMT program is available to 12th grade students only. Students may spend the full day at the Belmont Career Center for both lab instruction and academics; or half a day for lab instruction and half a day completing academics at their high school or College Credit Plus.
