General Information

Students Excel During Science Project

The senior science curriculum at the Belmont Career Center has students complete a project from beginning to end with very little instruction. Students are given supplies and regulations to complete the project.

Part of the supplies is a mousetrap. Students had to construct a vehicle with the mousetrap so it would travel along the ground for at least five feet.

Two senior Agricultural Mechanics students excelled with the project. Pictured, from left, are Lane Menges, Barnesville, whose mousetrap traveled 41.85 feet, while Codi Eaton, St. Clairsville, placed a close second at 38.12 feet. The next closest mousetrap came in at 23.89 feet. Science teacher is Sophie Garrity.
