HCC Construction Trades Students Work On Masonry Skills

Students in the Construction Trades program at the Harrison Career Center honed their masonry skills by completing a hands-on project at the Harrison County Board of Developmental Disabilities school. The students poured and finished a 75 foot sidewalk that connects two existing sidewalks. The project was completed in accordance with ADA and OSHA specifications.

"I would like to thank Keith Telfer and the Board of DD for giving the students the hands-on opportunity to pour and finish concrete," stated Construction Trades instructor, David Nameth. "The students and teachers at the school got to put their hand prints and names in the concrete which made it fun for them," he added. Nameth also thanked Smith Concrete for supplying the concrete.
