8th grade students from Harrison Central High School visited the Harrison Career Center for a "career day" to see the programs that were available to them as they enter high school. The 8th graders were divided into small groups so they could get an "up close and personal" view of all the programs offered: Conncections, Occupational Lab, Agricultural Mechanics, Natural Resources, Marketing and Hospitality and Facility Care Services. They were able to see current students in action and projects that they complete in each program.
Current students served as tour guides. Pictured, from left, are Courtney Dowdel, senior; Nick Parrish, senior; Tristan Arnold, junior; and Brandon Mansfield, senior.
Pictured below are current freshman Connections students Zack Diloreto, left, and Zach Smith demonstrating how to operate one of the saws in the lab for a group of 8th grade students.
8th grade students are now able to sign up to enter the Connections program next year as freshmen. They can get an application from their guidance counselor or on-line through the Career Center's website at www.BHCCenters.com.
